David read German and Politics at the University of Durham, before completing his Graduate Diploma in Law in 2012.
Prior to joining Vanner Perez Notaries in 2015, David worked for one of the City’s largest notarial firms. During his training, he was also seconded to Clifford Chance in Frankfurt, working in their German real estate practice. He has extensive knowledge of German notarial procedure and is the co-author of a comparative article published in the Gazette of the German Notaries’ Society entitled “The Notarial Profession in England and Wales: An Overview of its History, Status, Professional Rules and Practice”.
His practice centres primarily on dealing with statutory filing and regulatory compliance requirements across the DACH and Benelux regions. He prides himself on building sustainable client relationships to help align commercial needs with legal parameters. He acts for a range of clients, including investment fund managers, fintech start-ups and a commercial airline.
David speaks fluent German, French and Dutch, and has a working command of Spanish. His linguistic skills are an important asset in his role as head of the firm’s translation department. David is also an experienced translator and a member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists in his own right.
[UPDATE: In 2020, David is pursuing a new exciting career direction which will allow him to apply his legal expertise in a different sector. This means that, from March 2020, he will no longer be practising as a notary. We wish him the best in this new endeavour.]
